(Kenvue Inc. separated from Johnson & Johnson as of 08/23/2023) • Promoted to lead the creation of a new internal support group of four automation engineers to support both the Fort Washington, PA and Lititz, PA manufacturing facilities. This includes designing the overall team structures and dynamics, hiring to complete the planned staffing size, and onboarding and training the new team members. Work closely with the leadership and operations teams at both manufacturing sites to implement change management to align the automation support of all automated systems to the new group. • Through my experience as a subject matter expert on Fort Washington’s automation systems (Rockwell PLCs, FactoryTalk ME, Wonderware SCADA, InBatch, electrical hardware, and all facets of the automation OT systems), act as the main conduit to train team members and prepare them for all aspects of the role (troubleshooting, design improvements, interpreting and preparing process data for reporting purposes) and continue to act as a key expert in escalation for identifying, troubleshooting, and fixing complex automation shop floor issues. • Prioritize and assign projects to team members, from bug fixes to implementing new OT technologies for performance monitoring. Act as a coach and people leader to guide the team through project lifecycles as well as identifying opportunities for the team to improve and grow.
• Promoted from Senior Automation Engineer to Staff level in June 2021. • Actively manage production and upgrade projects through use of RSLogix5000 (ladder logic, structured text), Wonderware - ArchestrA IDE (template-based programming, structured text) and InBatch (s88 batch principles and sequential function charts), Rockwell Panelviews, and SQL and VisualStudio for database and reporting enhancements. Ensure proper interfacing to an MES system (Werum Pas-X) for inventory and status tracking. • Provided technical leadership and direction for standards, procedures, risk assessments, and regulatory requirements associated with automation/engineering practices, execution, and validation/qualification within a CFR Title 21 (FDA, cGMP) environment. • Responsible for timelines and project management for the four North American sites’ OT migration activities as Kenvue split from Johnson and Johnson. Interfaced with IT partners to identify shutdown windows and migration timing as well technical leadership over internal and external automation teams. • Directly managed the design initiative to create a new proof of concept machine relating to solid dose pills. Worked directly with a machine design and integration company to guide design details, review 3D modeled parts, and materials used in construction. Led the process controls effort to fully integrate all components into a Rockwell PLC with fit for purpose code along with custom panelview HMI. • Led the Continuous Improvement Initiative at the Fort Washington site to meet cycle time and cost improvement commitments From June 2021 – June 2022. This involved managing and providing direction for 10+ projects at a time. Focus on Lean/Six Sigma tools. • Provided on call support during first shift for active production at the site and provides direction and assistance to junior engineers off shift when required (as a subject matter expert, the severity of the issue may require my involvement during off shifts).

Provide input into the Product Life Cycle process as it relates to automation requirements and collaborate within the Technical Operations function including Engineering, Liquids, Commissioning & Qualification, Packaging Technology Platforms as well as with Quality functions and Manufacturing to establish and continuously improve automation/engineering practices, procedures and performance measures. Responsible for managing and delivering engineering/automation projects from concept to post implementation including developing project scope, user requirements, appropriation requests, time-lines and budgets, qualification plans, approving equipment specifications and documentation to meet current company, corporate and government requirements. Manage the purchase, installation and start-up of equipment and system including adherence to compliance, cost and time schedule requirements. Actively managing production and upgrade projects through use of RSLogix5000, Wonderware (ArchestrA IDE and InBatch), Panelview, SQL, and VisualStudio.
The KVB-Enertec Group focuses on Continuous Emission Monitoring (CEMs) enclosures, and provide their own controller hardware (SEAL) and Data Acquisition and Handling System (DAHS – NetDAHSEdge). • Responsible for the programming PLCs and ensuring proper communication with the DAHS. This involves programming in a proprietary language based on C as well as ladder, configuring SEAL and Allen-Bradley controllers with proper I/O cards, and creating proper environmental permit related calculations for compliance with state and federal regulations. • Manage upgrade projects with customers directly to ensure that previously installed systems are running as intended and still meet ever-changing environmental regulations.
• Worked a demanding 24/7 rotating shift troubleshooting control issues during initial batches of plant start up with the Process Controls team from January 2017- May 2017 (Siemens PCS7 v8.1 control system Batch recipes) • Responsible for electrical and hardware elements of the plant during the commissioning/startup phase by designing and updating electrical and control drawings, and ensuring correct implementation in the field through close oversight of contractors. This dual role required assisting the Controls group and working through field/electrical issues with local I&E and contractors. • Authored critical safety validation documentation and participated in the interlock validation process of the safety system (SIS). Solved control system logic issues as well as any field instrument complications. • Facilitated and guided the commissioning and startup of an additional R&D facility control system which doubled its capacity. • Managed many capital and maintenance projects at the plant before, during, and after startup, such as the installation and calibration of new rail scales, security camera placement and installation, and the design of the fiber optic loop and patch panel terminations for all control system equipment. • Led a valve automation project for chemical storage tanks at an additional plant location by producing a project scope for contractors to bid, then managed the overall cost and schedule.
