Seattle, Washington, United States
My name is Drew O'Donoghue-McDonald, and I am an aspiring professional in the field of digital sports media. I graduated from Boise State University in 2015, with a degree in communication. In my time at Boise State, I was an athlete on the cross country and track and field team. Upon graduation I spent 3+ years with Enterprise Rent-A-Car. In my three years I was promoted 3 times, and finished my career as a Management Assistant. At the end of my three years, I realized that I was not pursuing a career I was passionate about. The biggest joy I feel in life is when I write/research about sports. When I watch a game my mindset and focus is centered around the WHY of the result. I want to know what factors where the most critical in the competition, and then communicate this information to the fans. I also enjoy writing narratives about athletes. In my time as an athlete, I learned that there are many different factors beyond talent that help an athlete succeed. I am passionate about sharing these stories to inspire others and show the human element of our sports figures. I am 25 years old, and I am currently looking for an entry level position or internship in digital sports media. Currently I am working on my craft through practice articles on my favorite sport of golf, which I post weekly to Odmgolf.com. I also post my thoughts and insights on professional golf, and some others sports topics @dreodm. Golf is my expertise, but I am an avid follower of the Seattle Mariners, NBA, NFL, College athletics, and Olympic Sports.
