Andrew has over 21 years experience recruiting in Japan and has completed and/or contributed to more than 2,473+ searches (including 98 Japan Country Manager/Leadership Level searches) throughout the IT Industry. He has also provided Japan market entry support consulting to 72+ technology companies that have successfully entered and/or scaled up in the Japan market. He also works closely with several venture capital firms to provide insights to their portfolio companies around general hiring and business issues unique to Japan. Andrew primarily supports rapidly growing technology companies from the Silicon Valley who are looking to enter and scale in the Japan market. His primary focus area has been Cloud Computing (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS) and Marketing Tech (including ad-tech and digital marketing), but has also completed numerous mid-career – executive level searches throughout enterprise software including Big Data, Analytics, AI, Machine Learning, IoT, On-Demand/Edge Computing, and DevOps. ​ Andrew started his career with Japan Airlines where he was a Customer Service Supervisor, and there he had the chance to experience a global SAP rollout which ultimately drove him to start a career in IT recruitment. After Japan Airlines he joined Access Technology Japan where he was consistently a top-3 performer (out of 50+ consultants), and received MVP honors in his 2nd year. Prior to launching ScaleInsight, Andrew provided recruiting and consulting services to assist Silicon Valley technology companies enter and scale in the Japan market as an External Consultant (Partner) for a top Japan based executive search firm. Andrew spent a year at Tokyo Gakugei University as a Monbukagakusho Scholar and worked as an intern at Mizuno Sports in Japan before graduating from Carthage College with a Bachelors in Japanese and Communications. 21年以上に渡り、日本でのビジネスをサポートしてきた経験があり、これまでに2,473件以上の採用に貢献(うち98件以上は日本のカントリーマネージャー/リーダーシップの採用)。また、日本市場参入や事業拡大に成功した72社以上のテック企業に対して日本市場への参入を支援。ベンチャーキャピタル数社とも連携し、投資先のテクノロジー企業に日本特有の採用やビジネスにおける課題解決の知見を提供。 主に、日本市場への参入と規模拡大を目指すシリコンバレーの最先端テクノロジー企業をサポート。特に、クラウドコンピューティングとマーケティングテクノロジー(アドテクノロジーとデジタルマーケティングを含む)を主軸に、ビッグデータ、アナリティクス、生成AI、SaaS、IaaS、Dev/DevOpsを含むエンタープライズソフトウェア全般においても、中途採用やエグゼクティブレベルのサーチを手掛ける。 キャリアの第一歩を日本航空で開始し、カスタマーサービスのスーパーバイザーとしてSAPのグローバル展開の経験を機に、IT系の人材紹介業へ転身。日本航空を退職後、Access Technologyに入社し、50名以上のコンサルタントの中でトップパフォーマーとして活躍、2年目にMVPを受賞。ScaleInsightを立ち上げる前は、日本に拠点を置くトップエグゼクティブサーチ会社の外部コンサルタント(パートナー)として、日本市場への参入と規模拡大を目指すシリコンバレーのテックノロジー企業へコンサルティングサービスを提供していました。日本文部科学省研究留学生として東京学芸大学日本語・日本文化研修で1年間学び、日本のミズノスポーツでインターンとして勤務した後にカーセジ大学コミュニケーション学部日本語学科を卒業。
