I’m the UK Engineering Manager for Interflex Group, responsible for leading the engineering and maintenance function across three manufacturing sites that produce flexible packaging for major food industry customers. My role is centred on leadership — setting direction, developing teams, and ensuring engineering supports the wider goals of the business. I focus on creating an environment where people can perform at their best. That means strong communication, clear priorities, and a culture built on safety, reliability and continuous improvement. I stay close enough to the technical detail to make informed decisions, but my day‑to‑day is very much about strategy, people and long‑term planning. The variety of the role motivates me: from shaping maintenance strategy and overseeing investment decisions, to delivering major capital projects and supporting operational improvements across the sites. What I enjoy most is seeing teams grow, systems mature and performance strengthen over time. My background covers a mix of environments - including a family‑run bakery, a large charity organisation and a multinational organisation - giving me a broad understanding of engineering, people and business operations. That mix of experiences continues to influence my leadership style today. I’m driven by improving workplaces: making them safer, smarter, and more efficient through strong leadership, engaged teams and purposeful engineering.
