Went to University, Dropped out, Became a Bricklayer, Formed a Rock Band, Moved to newly independent Zimbabwe, Taught building, Wrote textbooks, Trained Teachers. Gave Architecture another shot, back to University at the age of 40, Office, Hotel & Residential projects in several Southern African countries. Economic meltdown in Zimbabwe, fled to Dubai, project architect, Revit/BIM initiator & associate at GAJ. Blogger, advocate of the "BIM pencil" = using BIM tools and processes in fluid, off-label ways. Project Soane, Project Notre Dame and beyond. Retired in 2026 and moved back to UK after 45 years. I am here to share ideas and experience. I cannot help you to find work or sell your products and services, so please don't ask. If you are interested in open collaboration to explore human history via "the way we build," all good. Planning to continue my BIM pencil work as long as I am able with a focus on exploring history, with Revit as a primary research tool.
