I am a professional with a diverse background, and have worked in education, engineering, and customer service. At my current job I work in a Big Picture School called Gibson Ek High School and help my students manage their time, learning, and schedules. I do this while advising the student body around all matters of science, technology, and robotics.
Gibson Ek is the first-of-its-kind world leader in the complete implementation of the Big Picture Model of education in a public school setting. Students learn through multi-disciplinary projects rather than traditional courses. • Coach and instruct more than 20 students over three years, guiding and assessing them through all content areas. • Lead all science teaching for the student body, designing and building science standards and curriculum for the whole school. • Work with all grade levels and skill levels to help students understand and demonstrate the scientific method on a philosophical and practical level while aligning their work with the Washington State Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). • Emphasize continuously the value of interdisciplinary learning through lesson and curriculum planning with peers from various disciplines. • Offer students a nuanced view of the world through my professional experience in STEM fields and as a robot coach.
As a an Associate Staff Professional I am actively involved in field sampling, drilling, database management, and CAD drawing alterations
