I have 11 years experience in the medium and heavy duty truck industry. Through these years I have troubleshot, diagnosed, and repaired vehicles. I have trained other employees and managed employees. My main objective is to effectively run a service dept. using up to date training, safety guide lines, time management, and current technologies.
At Peterbilt my day consist of meeting with each customer and taking down all information related to the complaint of their breakdown. Next I work with our service writer to generate a work order. After the work order is generated I take it to the tech I feel is best fit for the job. I judge this based on two things, time and efficiency. Once I have assigned all nine technicians a job I work hand and hand making sure they have all the necessary tools to complete each job at maximum efficiency. After each Job is complete I like to take time to go over all work we have done to make sure the customer is satisfied.
My day at TA consisted of working hand in hand with service writers and customers. I would take down all complaints related to the breakdown. Next I would use basic troubleshooting skills and make a repair. Eventually I went through several training course in vehicle electronics, A/C and air braking systems. Once I had completed these courses I was given an opportunity to train others on site coming into the repair field
