About

Learning, solving problems and building things is my passion. That drive for knowledge has led me to develop experience at every layer. From the frontend, to the backend, operating systems, networking, hardware and even down to HVAC and electrical, I’ve built and fixed it all. Thanks to my extensive skillset I have become a force multiplier, helping teams become more efficient and productive. Point me at a problem, and I’ll help you solve it faster, cheaper, and better. Notable Accomplishments • Helped found the Dallas Makerspace and as President grew it to one of the largest non-profit makerspaces in the world, at over 1k paying members. • Discovered and reported a vulnerability in HashiCorp Vault and Vault Enterprise that allowed for enumeration of Secrets Engine mount paths via unauthenticated HTTP requests. (CVE-2020-25594) • Contributed to open source projects such as AWS CDK, OpenEBS, Istio, uvicorn, Milvus, Home Assistant and more. • Reduced infrastructure costs on AWS by nearly 75%, while increasing the amount of available compute and improving developer experience. • Started “What The? Wednesday”, a forum where each week one person is given 30 minutes to present or talk about a topic of their choosing. Topics ranged from business relevant (such as an overview of OpenID Connect) to personal projects (such as bee-keeping). This helped our employees build and improve their presentation skills in a way that was fun and engaging for the entire company. • Flown out to Iceland to be a livestream commentator for EVE Online’s first PvP Tournament. • Designed and led a team to build an Elasticsearch-based application log system used by Toyota companies globally. • Managed a volunteer effort to produce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Scottish Rite Children's Hospital and other Dallas-area medical facilities during the 2020 shortage.
