I have had the opportunity of serving in the steel, scrap and mineral processing industries with some of the leading edge manufacturing companies in the USA. As a full time project development engineer with Igneo focus has been at developing infrastructure to recycle e-waste and electronics for metal recovery. As a full time process metallurgist at Steel Dynamics Inc. focus has been at the electric arc furnaces to improve existing practices and solving quality/process issue as they arise. As a full time Project Engineer at Omya Inc., focus has been large scale project management and equipment commissioning. Specialties: High Temperature Thermodynamics, Project Management, Solidification, Steel Slag Practice, Extraction Metallurgy, Industrial Process Optimization, Electric Arc Furnace Steelmaking, Project Management, Equipment Commissioning, Manufacturing Flow Maps, New Product Development, commissioning equipment, equipment refurbishment
Serving as a trusted thought partner to internal stakeholders, effectively communicating priorities, challenges, and risks with a data-driven approach.
Designing, procuring, and constructing the first low grade e-scrap processing facility in the Americas for Igneo Technologies. Igneo’s sustainable copper concentrates complement conventional mining which creates a closed-loop model for partner OEMs and smelters, creating a greener, cleaner and more efficient process. This technology means new electronic devices can be created and consumed with less damage to the planet.
Project management over large scale installations and equipment commissioning. Review and refurbish existing equipment, setup project costs/timeframes and managing over all project assets.
Reviewing melting/casting process and making modifications that create better flow through shop/savings. Review alloy additions and determine cost/benefit analysis models.
Designed standard operating procedures inside the mill. Educated mill workers on thermodynamics and extractive processes for copper metal. Became educated on safety in hazardous industrial environments.
