I am passionate about work with a wide range of populations, especially the elderly. I strive to improve my therapeutic technique, my rapport, and my cultural competence everyday.

As a teacher, most of my time was spent working my curriculum based off of AB-Tech Guidelines. This curriculum focused on life skills for adults with developmental disabilities. While the activities had a wide range, they all aimed at developing excellency in the workforce and at home. A crucial part of this was weekly outings, which ranged from learning to use the bus system to going to the arboretum to learn about carnivorous plants. I also supervised a number of paraprofessionals who I worked along side. It was my job to create a classroom culture that empowered the clients and upheld their dignity. This meant that I had to teach social work principles to new hires and remind workers we maintained of the principles we shared as an organization.
