SmartPay specializes in leasing wireless devices to consumers. Started as a division of BillFloat / Better Finance, and sold to TEMPOE in the fall of 2015. I led SmartPay's new business development efforts, focusing on developing relationships with leading retailers (Walmart, RadioShack, GameStop) and wireless carriers (T-Mobile, Sprint, TracFone, Verizon). Grew revenue from $2MM to $150MM in 5 years.
Played a pivotal role in the development and expansion of this leading provider of auto repair and maintenance information to consumers. • Led initial product development and sales of repair shop certification product "Top Shop" • Negotiated complex business deals to grow demand for RepairPal’s Top Shops, including partnership with #2 roadside assistance provider, Agero. • Developed strategic partnerships with key industry partners including Consumer Reports and NAPA
Served as Chief Technology Officer and general manager of technology product line. Drove the replacement of obsolete core technology product with a new cloud based system while ensuring the smooth transition of an installed base of 200+ customers. Promoted development of strategic new digital business partnerships with companies including Salesforce.com, Google, Disney and Starbucks. Establish technology as an important, effective department in the organization. • Cemented business deals with Salesforce.com and an application developer (Navatar) to build a new volunteer management system on the Force.com platform. • Improved the organization’s primary web sites and approach to web development. Led redesign of both primary web sites. • Cut Technology budget more than 30% while meeting all key goals. • Successfully recruited successor and transitioned role in winter 2010.
