Miami-Fort Lauderdale Area
Currently I am an undergraduate student who is an active member of FIU's welcoming community, working hard to not only improve myself, but also my classmates. I always strive to bring compassion and leadership to anything I do. I believe that a good leader will put in the extra work to ensure that everyone is being used to the best of their abilities, while still staying compassionate and caring. That is why I ensure that I am welcoming to my classmates and ensure that I am doing my part, to the best of my abilities, to better myself in hopes of acting as a role model for others to follow and better themselves. I intend on attending medical school in the near future. I currently conduct chemistry education research to improve my school's chemistry program. I am a teacher's assistant and proudly take the responsibility of taking control of a chemistry lab non-science majors, thus helping to recruit students to STEM and promoting science. I also shadow several medical professionals including a neurosurgeon specialized in oncology, and the trauma team and orthopedic trauma team at Ryder Trauma Center.
I lead my own chemistry lab where I teach students the proper way to use lab equipment and give an introduction to various topics of chemistry
I assist the chemistry department at FIU to help retain students in either the chemistry and/or biochemistry majors
I was a camp counselor for children between the age of 5 and 7 years old. I would help the students learn to swim, how to speak with manners, interact politely, and overall be better people.
