PHS aspires to become an expert, practitioner, and influencer of horticultural practices that meet the highest expectations of horticulture while directly advancing our four impact priorities, also known as Gardening for the Greater Good. The Vice President of Horticulture serves at PHS's Chief Subject Matter Expert (SME) on ornamental horticulture, charged with maintaining high standards charged with maintaining high standards of horticultural integrity across the organization. They are a key connector and relationship manager with external people and organizations involved in ornamental horticulture, and an ambassador and relationship manager for donors, volunteers, and other constituents primarily interested in ornamental horticulture. They are responsible for not only bringing into PHS expertise from external sources and educating internal staff so that they may apply the knowledge, but also building awareness of PHS externally by disseminating expertise in alignment with Gardening for the Greater Good. They are also a key adviser of design and plant selection in PHS' Public Gardens and Landscapes and the Philadelphia Flower Show. They will work closely with the following teams: Public Gardens and Landscapes, Shows and Events, Development and Marketing.
