I have several years of experience in the explosives/mining industry successfully leading projects and managing work teams in Safety, Health, Environment, and Security areas. Possessing a global mindset, having lived in 17 different countries and traveled to over 70, I look to provide creative and practical solutions for the challenges I undertake. • Designed the global EHS strategy to create a sustainable EHS culture at Oterra that will allow us to achieve 0 accidents • Supporting the integration and harmonization of multiple EHS systems from companies acquired by Oterra (4 companies in total). • Leading HAZOP's across multiple sites to identify and close safety design gaps in the manufacturing sites worldwide • Promoting a risk-based bottom-up approach to hazard control at manufacturing sites to ensure effective control of the major hazards present.
• Oversaw the Major Hazards initiative project to improve safety standards and culture across the region • Trained and coached mid and senior management in effective safety leadership • Adapted and created the regional SHES strategy to work with local cultures • Administrator for IT system (Enablon) that supports the regional management system Achievements: • Successfully increased critical control compliance for LATAM from 51% to 86% • Pushed mid and senior leadership participation in safety interactions from an average of 12 a month to 135 • Successfully implemented the Major Hazards Initiative in 93 sites with over 2300 employees
• Ensured compliance with local and internal SHES standards at all sites in the PVC&C region • Maintained direct communication with clients to ensure synergy with their safety systems • Implemented SHES strategies as required by Corporate • Cultivated and advocated transparent and sustainable safety culture with workers in the region Achievements: • Received recognition from Orica’s LATAM President for ensuring safe operations in one of our clients tunneling sites by eliminating the exposure our workers had to high risk conditions • Successfully passed all client safety audits and developed constructive relationships with new clients
• Provided support for new product implementation tests • Implemented and operated aerial drones in mining operations • Updated resource models of various operations to ensure efficient use of assets and personnel Achievements: • Won the Global Orica Safety award for implementing aerial drones to remotely analyze high risk explosive charges in surface mining.
