About

With a strong foundation in physics and over two decades of experience in quantum science, I have dedicated my career to advancing research and education in this dynamic field. My academic journey began with a Master's degree from Rheinisch-Westfälische Technische Hochschule Aachen, which paved the way for roles as a Research Scientist at renowned institutions like Yale University and Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nürnberg. Currently, I serve as a Full Professor at ETH Zurich, leading efforts in quantum electronics and superconducting circuits while also contributing to international academia through visiting positions. As the leader of Quantum Center, ETH Zurich, I oversee its mission to unify scientific and structural activities across departments in quantum science and technology. The center serves as an interdisciplinary hub for fostering innovative research initiatives and sustainable teaching frameworks within this cutting-edge discipline. With a focus on advancing both theoretical understanding and practical applications of quantum technology, we are shaping the future of science at ETH Zurich.
