Sustainability is the greatest challenge facing humanity and the reason I get up in the morning. If business isn't on board, it won't happen. That's why I've been working since the early 1990s to provoke, empower and support leading companies to become sustainability leaders, as program leader at SustainAbility Ltd and editor of Tomorrow-Global Sustainability Business magazine. Now as CEO of One Stone Asia Pacific, co-founder of One Stone Advisors (an award-winning B Corp), and expert on the NSW Government Sustainability Advantage Program, my aim is to have real impact on the global goals. As a Standards Australia Technical Committee Member, I provide expert input on ISO global Environmental Management Systems standards (ISO/TC 207). As well as ISO 14000-series standards, this includes standardisation to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals through development of the new ISO 53001 standard under ISO/PC 343 WG 1.
The purpose of the International Business Advisory Board of School of Management and Governance at the University of NSW is to support strengthening and innovation in curriculum design for better student learning experiences and outcomes.
Part of a new governance model launched by B Lab Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand (AANZ) in 2022, the B Council brings a broader, more diverse set of voices from the B Corp community into direction-setting of the movement. A key focus of the inaugural B Council is to co-design how this new pro bono governance body will work and engage.
Successfully completed the B Consultant program, an in-depth training program run by B Lab AANZ which trains individuals to work with companies looking to improve their social and environmental impact and become certified B Corps. Also completed B Facilitator training to deliver and facilitate 'Become a B Corp' workshops.
