Marine ecologist with a background in coastal management and experience in environmental impact assessment for development projects, as well as science and institutional communication. More recently, my experience supporting the organisation of Portugal’s Pavilion at the last three UNFCCC COPs highlighted how ocean-related issues remain relatively underrepresented in climate negotiations. This realisation motivated me to deepen my knowledge of the ocean–climate nexus, natural capital and coastal ecosystem services, leading me to pursue further studies. I am currently undertaking a Master’s programme focused on the Blue Economy. I am particularly interested in blue carbon and in contributing to greater recognition of the role of the ocean and coastal ecosystems in climate mitigation, adaptation and human health.
