- Set up Policy & Government Affairs in Europe and lead the team in Brussels and across markets; - Design and execute region-wide and national government affairs strategies and activities in close coordination with the commercial teams and other functions (focus on EU4, UK, PL, SE, CZ); - Lead engagement with EU and national policy-makers and other key stakeholders; participation in panels and external policy events; - Member of the European Commercial Leadership Team, Extended European LT and extended global Corporate Affairs LT; - Work closely with Chief Corporate Affairs Officer and other C-Suite executives and advise / prepare them for their external engagement in Europe; - Vaccines Europe Public Affairs Working Group Vice-Chair; former Co-Chair of the Vaccines Europe/EFPIA Task Force on the European Parliament COVID Committee.
- Set up and responsible for the day to day running of the Biogen’s EU office; Biogen’s point of contact for EU policy-makers and non-institutional stakeholder, including key PAGs; - Developing and executing EU government affairs strategy, tactics and engagement with a main focus on the review of the EU orphan regulation and general pharma legislation, IP and incentives, HTA, digital health and pricing and access initiatives; - Representing Biogen in EFPIA (inc. Board and PAC staffer), EUCOPE and IFPMA and briefing senior business leaders on relevant issues relating to EU policies; - Educating internal audience about key EU policies and mobilising business leaders and affiliates on key Biogen policy priorities at regional and local level; - Policy lead for the rare neuromuscular diseases franchise (Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). Member of the regional Core Leadership Team, working closely with the Commercial Lead and cross-functionally; - Developing and executing PPGA strategies to prepare political and legislative environment for the launch of two orphan products in Europe and Canada.
- Providing public affairs (PA) strategic advice and support to multiple clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare space at European Union (EU) and global level; - Directing and managing multiple projects for several clients and dedicated teams, while developing strong relations with both clients and key stakeholders in the EU healthcare environment; - Main tasks: designing and implementing successful PA strategies to shape legislation and policies in the pharmaceutical space; directly engaging with healthcare policy-makers and stakeholders; drafting briefings and advocacy material for senior client leaders; developing and running coalitions with patient organisations and other stakeholders; delivering presentations on highly-complex topics; designing and running events and campaigns on sensitive topics; - Strong understanding of: pharmaceutical policies and legislation, including around IP incentives, HTA, and use of unlicensed medicines; stakeholders’ needs and interests; key therapeutic areas, notably oncology, rare diseases and neuroscience; functioning of corporate affairs and relations with other functions and business. - Member of the FTI Life Sciences Senior Global Team. - Developing and implementing advocacy strategies towards the EU institutions with the objective of mobilising resources to fight diseases of poverty and ensuring the EU delivers coherent policies to improve access to health care worldwide; - Main tasks: drafting advocacy papers and letters; engaging decision-makers at the highest level; coordinating the European Advocacy Coalition on Global Health R&D and the European Parliament Working Group on Innovation, Access to Medicines and Poverty-Related Diseases; designing and delivering advocacy training; organising parliamentary delegations and events; developing and implementing campaigns on key issues.
