As a Value Chain Engineer, I'm working alongside GM purchasing professionals on the cutting edge of technology, pushing the boundaries of efficient and effective material cost optimization, maximizing commercial opportunities, and mitigating threats. Collaborate with Supply Base, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, and other business partners. Key job responsibilities: 1- Help buyers to understand and compare part costs: a) Confirm supplier cost reporting through audits b) Build up cost model with the help of GM standards and experts c) Analyze and compare costs for opportunities and gaps d) Use analysis and available data to support buyers in the development of sourcing and negotiation strategies. 2 - Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction activities. a) Identify waste and inefficiencies at supplier sites b) Conduct on-site workshops with suppliers, if needed, to develop improvement plans to address opportunities identified through performance improvement tools c) Monitor/accelerate supplier implementation of resulting improvement plans to ensure savings are achieved and coordinate with the respective buyers to ensure the savings are realized.
Execute deliverables in support of the supply chain organization's business objectives. Guide of one of the key areas within the Global Supply Chain to ensure business objectives are met or exceeded in all areas including customer, quality, service, responsiveness, people, product and financial initiatives. Communicate to all levels of the organization, within the function as well as other functions and suppliers. Responsible for supporting relationship management with logistic suppliers and service providers. • Understand and assess complex supply chain issues and lead teams in a cross functional environment to successfully resolve issues minimizing impacts to vehicle production. • Assess supplier schedules and impact on vehicle assembly production. • Collaborate cross functionally to develop creative solutions. • Summarize critical issues with resolutions and communicate to leadership. • Handle very complex capacity constraint issues to resolution with goal to eliminate potential plant disruptions and reduce premium transportation. • Analyze metrics supporting supplier critical issues or sufficiency plan resolution. • Problem tackle complete issues and implement new and innovative strategies.

Take responsibility from product development through to pre-production and into mass production using Toyota’s unique production preparation methodology and teamwork approach. . Leading the preparation team of Design, Quality & Logistics people, of both Toyota and suppliers, to monitor the planning and development activities of a group of suppliers throughout Latin America in the area of interior / chassis / functional / engine parts. .
