Assisted in the investment and portfolio management of SEA-focused High-Yield dollar-denominated debt funds. • Performed credit, and sector analysis for a variety of bond issuers in both Asia and Europe – this included several pension and assurance firms in the UK (Phoenix Group, Legal&General and other players in the bulk purchase annuity market) and real-estate development firms in China.
Assisted in the valuation of a private subsidiary as part of the valuation report for Taobao China Holding Limited's acquisition of Sunart Retail Group: • Researched the payments industry, and communicated an in-depth understanding of the payments value chain internally to the team. • Produced a multiples analysis of the subsidiary; worked independently to shortlist companies before evaluating for comparability, and completed the valuation multiples analysis for the report. Additionally, I conducted ad-hoc research into the lithium supply and production chains. I evaluated an investment proposal for a new lithium mine in Western Africa, and evaluated South Korean steelmaker POSCO regarding its competitiveness in the lithium processing industry.
