I’m a documentary storyteller and educator interested in how stories move across platforms and into the public conversation. My work spans photography, video, multimedia storytelling, and long-form podcasting. At the center of it is a simple idea: when people learn how to tell stories well, they begin to see the world differently. I teach digital media and storytelling at Houston City College, where I work with students across photography, video, and multimedia production. Many of my students are first-generation college students discovering their voice for the first time. My role is to help them develop the craft, curiosity, and confidence to tell stories that hold up outside the classroom. Alongside teaching, I build platforms that support public storytelling. I founded the Storytelling & Media Incubator, a collaborative space where students produce documentary projects for real audiences through photography, film, multimedia work, and podcasting. Before entering academia, I worked as a documentary photographer and photojournalist, with work published in outlets including the New York Times Lens Blog, NPR, and zReportage. I’m particularly interested in how emerging tools—including AI—are reshaping storytelling and media education. Whether I’m teaching, producing a podcast, or working with students on documentary projects, the goal is the same: help people find their voice and tell stories that matter. Speaking and collaboration inquiries welcome.
