Acoustic Engineer with over 10 years of experience in the design, execution, and supervision of acoustic projects, integrating scientific research with industrial applications. I have worked on large-scale architectural and ICT projects, including international airports, auditoriums, theaters, shopping centers, hotels, churches, metro stations, conference rooms, and corporate buildings. My expertise covers room and building acoustics, environmental and industrial noise control, vibrations, acoustic instrumentation, aeroacoustics, acoustic materials, public address systems, industrial and medical ultrasound, and underwater acoustics for species characterization. I also develop AI-based algorithms applied to acoustic problems and solutions for automating technical processes in Architecture and ICT projects. I have combined industrial practice with academic research as a Senior Researcher in Europe and Professor in Colombia, applying scientific knowledge to solve real-world industrial challenges. Since 2017, I have presented at international acoustics conferences and published in high-impact scientific journals (Q1/Q2, Scimago), bridging scientific research, industrial project management, and the strengthening of R&D+i activities within organizations. I hold a PhD in Engineering from the UPV, awarded Cum Laude with an International Doctorate Mention, as well as a Master’s degree in Acoustic Engineering from the same institution. I also hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sound Engineering, including an academic exchange at the National University of Tres de Febrero (Argentina), a Diploma in Thermal and Acoustic Insulation, and a Technical Degree in Industrial Electrical Maintenance. I completed my doctoral research stay at the University of Coimbra (Portugal) in the Department of Civil Engineering, and I am currently conducting a postdoctoral fellowship, within the framework of European Union funded projects. In parallel, and as a complement to my professional development, I am pursuing a Global MBA in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the European Business School of Barcelona. I specialize in numerical simulation techniques and am proficient in a wide range of acoustic, architectural, and analytical tools, including Comsol, CATT-Acoustic, EASE, SoundPLAN, MATLAB, Python, Revit (BIM), among others. I combine scientific, technical, and industrial expertise to deliver innovative, high-efficiency solutions focused on optimization, quality, and reliability in acoustic and applied engineering projects.
At AECOM, I was part of the ICT discipline and later the Architecture area within Enterprise Capabilities (EC), a strategic global center for technical collaboration that integrates specialized teams across regions for the development of complex projects. This unit focuses on the use of advanced digital tools such as BIM and collaborative engineering methodologies, connecting technical talent worldwide for the delivery of infrastructure, building, and transportation projects. Within this environment, I performed the following activities: -Project planning and management, including supplier coordination, schedule tracking, labor hour budgeting, and cost control. -Acoustic design and noise control for large-scale projects in industrial, airport, and urban-environment contexts. -Design of Public Address (PA) and audiovisual systems. -Acoustic consulting on international projects (Europe, USA, and LATAM), collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. -Application of construction and transportation standards and regulations. -Implementation of machine learning models, Python, and Power BI for internal process optimization and workflow automation. -Mentoring junior architects in architectural acoustics. -Participation in conferences, knowledge transfer activities, and university lectures. Key projects: -Chiclayo and Chinchero Airports (Peru). -Development of a machine learning-based data management methodology for the “One Amazon” project, Serranía de Chiribiquete National Natural Park. Software used: -Revit, SONArchitect, INSUL, EASE Evac, EASE SpeakerLab, EASE, SoundPLAN, ArcGIS, Python, Power BI.-
In the Faculty of Engineering at Universidad de San Buenaventura (Bogotá Campus), I worked as a full-time professor in the Sound Engineering Program, as well as Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Acoustics and Vibrations during the period 2023–2, where I led activities aimed at strengthening the academic program, its outreach, and visibility: -Participation in postgraduate fairs for the promotion of the Master’s in Acoustics and Vibrations. -Organization of lectures and conferences with national and international acoustics experts, including industry guests from companies such as Fiberglass. -Recruitment of faculty members and design of new courses, such as Aeroacoustics, aligned with the master’s research lines.
