I set production schedules, create budgets, ideate and greenlight pitches, manage full-time employees and freelancers, deliver feedback on scripts and edits, and track analytics to make data-informed decisions that have grown view counts on both shows. Successes include budgeting, scouting freelancers and on-camera talent, and building remote infrastructure for the expansions of the "Food Wars" format into Japan and India.
Hired to provide digital video post-production polish and production guidance for all GMG and Fusion Media Group verticals, including Gizmodo, Deadspin, Kotaku, Jezebel, Kotaku, Lifehacker, Splinter, and the Root. Later moved into full-time video producer/editor role for Deadspin. Duties included pitching stories, producing, designing and creating motion graphics, and extensive editing and color correction. Work included editing and creative production on "The Cricket Kings of Queens", a documentary that was an official selection at the Manhattan Film Festival and Breckenridge Film Festival and was featured by the BBC World Service. Further garnered a Webby nomination for my short documentary "A Vida Recomeça" about amputee skateboarder Felipe Nunes.
Six month residency as an audio engineer. Produce, record, and mix both studio recordings and live concerts. Work involves extensive use of Pro Tools HD systems, Pyramix, and the Euphonix System 5 console. Highlights include collaborating on recordings with members of Broken Social Scene, independent Canadian acts, and visiting artists in residence from around the world.
