Vejle, Region of Southern Denmark, Denmark
My career began with 9 years in the food ingredients industry at Danisco (now IFF), starting out in RD&D with focus on separation processes and thermodynamics, and gradually moving into global project development and project management. In 2006 I changed to the power industry (DONG Energy, now Ørsted) and worked four years with CO2 strategy and CCS projects and international business development and one year as responsible for mid- and longterm development of Ørsted's business in the Aarhus area in Denmark. That led to the position as head of heat sales to municipalities and district heating transmission companies in Denmark, followed by the position as Head of Sales for both heat, power and ancilliary services. In 2016 I was appointed vice president responsible for top-line growth, contribution margin and new projects for Ørsted Bioenergy (turnover of DKK 5-6 bn and COGS of around DKK 3 bn). From 2018 to 2022 I built Ørsted's renewable hydrogen and green fuels business from an idea to a develop-build-own-operate business area in Ørsted with a tangible project pipeline of +3GW of electrolyser capacity by 2030. As part of the continued scale-up of the business I assumed the role of COO of Ørsted P2X in the beginning of 2022. The journey in Ørsted P2X inspired me to seek new opportunities in the greentech start-up/scale-up environment, which led me to the roles as CEO PtX & by-products in BioCirc and the chairman of the board of directors at Wavepiston. My career vision is "strategic leadership". My career mission is to use my intellect, my empathy and my ability to quickly create overview to - build sustainable organisations that repeatedly deliver high-quality results - develop trustful and mutually enriching relations to others while contributing to economically and environmentally sustainable development of society. Specialties: Green hydrogen, power-to-X, renewable energy, energy sector regulation, power markets, ancillary services, biomass, district heating, wave energy. Business development, strategy, investment decisions, building organizations, turn-arounds, internal start-up and scale-up, international project development, project management, general management, leadership, coaching & NLP.
