Lead the planning and implementation of overall grant project, working closely with relevant stakeholders within the City of Houston, Houston Public Library and Mayor's Office for Adult Literacy. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of grant project and scope, ensuring quality and timeliness of project deliverables. Assures the alignment between project-objective implementation and the Houston Adult Literacy Blueprint. Manage, and prepare budgets and plan for all resources required for the project, including personnel and equipment, and ensures compliance with requirements. Serve as a liaison among divisions, City departments, partners, and committees directing and resolving problems. Coordinate and implement ARPA grant-related meetings with internal stakeholders to ensure project advancement and compliance. Prepare technical, programmatic, and financial reports for submission by required deadlines; maintain various databases, records, and files and ensure project documents are complete, current and filed appropriately. Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. Communicate and present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions to stakeholders Analyze and evaluate community needs with grant programs and activities to ensure program viability.
Develop and coordinate programs and outreach services that aims to build understanding across community members of all ages and backgrounds, including immigrants, refugees, and new Americans. • Create Welcoming Environments and Spaces for newcomers in Houston • Serve international populations though programs and services • Increase diversity in the collection • Develop understanding for different cultures and values and respect to those cultures Establish effective outreach strategies to connect the library with Houston's communities, working with staff across all Houston Public Library system (more than 40 libraries.) - Develop targeted marketing and communications strategies in collaboration with HPL staff and HPL Communications to reach and address the expressed needs of international communities and immigrants - Coordinate “The Living Room at HPL” program series, a program oriented to build community partnerships, connections and understanding with the local community, involving all regions of Houston: o FY 17-20 Total attendees: 9,595 participants; Average attendance: 233 participants per event; Total events: 50 Living Room sessions in 24 neighborhood libraries. Manage the “100 Anniversary of the Consulate General of Mexico in Houston” celebration (to take place in November 2020) Coordinated HTV show “Dialogue Houston’s Leaving in New Knowledge” special edition to highlight HPL services and partners (from May to September 2020.) Supervised more than 200 system-wide projects in response to the covid-19 crisis.

Conducted 20 library tours for them in one and a half years, providing these patrons with approximately 100 library cards due to these activities - Implemented a Community Outreach Plan for local schools and community groups to promote library services. - Trained staff in specific tools and strategies to ensure effective outreach. - Provided reference assistance to public patrons in-person and by phone. - Worked with local community groups, as well as schools and organizations to promote library resources and provide effective services and programs for adult literacy; - Provided assistance with technology-related issues including e-readers, tablets and Computer classes; - Executed initiatives to creatively solve problems and make sound decisions; - Exhibited a high level of creativity for innovative services and programming; - Performed all duties of public service librarian, as needed.
