About

Ana Barros Graduation: Degree and Master's Degree in Chemistry by University of Porto, Faculty of Sciences, Portugal. Industrial experience as R&D researcher in Horquim LDA (2010-2012) and in CITEVE (Technological Centre for the Textile and Clothing Industries of Portugal, 2012- up to the present moment). Working as researcher of CITEVE since 2012, mainly in Functional & Technical Garment development, is member of several national and European projects such as: - Power Textiles XXI - PPS4: Functional & technical garment for firefighters; Functional & technical garment for outdoor sports. PPS7: Composite components for Habitat. - PERMAC- Personal Microclimate Active control system (Intelligent protective clothing for soldiers with a personal microclimate active control system integrated.). – Development of protective garments for industrial workers (metalworkers, petrochemical industry workers) and urban and structural firefighters protective suits development. And in European Defence Agency projects (EDA): - ACCLITEXSYS (ACCLImatization TEXtile SYStem); - LIVEST (uLtralIgtht weight bullet-proof VESTs); - ACAMS (Adaptive Camouflage for the Soldier); - PROSAFE (Next Generation Personal Protection Garments Against Warfare Agents). Also performs activities as trainer in Chemistry and Textile Chemistry in Citeve AFTEBI.
