Martin, Tennessee, United States
I started working at The University of Tennessee at Martin in 2004, teach applied voice, diction for singers, aural skills, and direct Lyric Opera Theatre. My interests and focus as a singer (soprano) are art songs and chamber music. I am an active member of the College Music Society, and the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and is currently the treasurer of the Tennessee State chapter of NATS. I enjoy collaborating with my colleagues in chamber vocal music, and am embarking on a series of song recitals by female composers from various periods and countries. My debut art song CD with pianist Jung-Won Shin, released by Centaur Records, was supported by the Tennessee Arts Commission’s Individual Artist Fellowship in Music. My research interests include female composers, kinesthetic approach to vocal techniques, and vocal yoga.
