Supporting Montanan’s Future in STEM, Space, and National Defense Industries

Bozeman, Montana, United States

About

I am part of the academic shift from status to impact, using academic work to advance knowledge and inform practice (Hoffman, 2021). This perspective paired with growing up working on an 800-acre cattle ranch means I live for the practical application and supporting agriculture. With 13 years of professional work experience and a Master's and PhD in Leadership Development, I am on a mission to apply research and inspire future generations. I excel at identifying unique opportunities that close the gap between industry and higher education. My work is most rewarding when I can make a difference in the world and support others in the process. My skills include: - Leadership skills development training - Strategic partnerships - Organizational effectiveness - Program planning, development, and evaluation - Science-based communication practices - Project management - Data analysis - Employee management - Optimism, enthusiasm, and empathy https://www.amyrocksokay.com/

  • Deputy Director at Montana Space Grant Consortium
    Jan 2026 - Present · 6 mos

The Montana Space Grant Consortium (MTSGC), hosted at Montana State University (MSU), fosters STEM education and career opportunities for Montana's students and faculty in NASA-related fields. This includes student fellowships and scholarships programs; interdisciplinary space-related research infrastructure, education, and public service programs; and cooperative initiatives with industry, research laboratories, and state, local, and other governments. Space Grant operates at the intersection of NASA’s interest as implemented by alignment with the Mission Directorates and the state’s interests. Although it is primarily a higher education program, Space Grant programs encompass the entire length of the education pipeline, including elementary/secondary and informal education. Our mission is to “Inspire - Imagine - Innovate”.
