• Leads strategy for up to 50 business trainings/year serving low-income adult learners in English and Spanish from diverse communities. Ensures programs are accessible, culturally relevant, and consistently in alignment with organizational values. • Designs yearly course plan of business trainings, including 10 introductory courses and 15 advanced courses, and facilitates planning of specialized courses with team of staff trainers. • Strategic lead for team of 5 staff and 2 contracted business coaches, and 3 contracted trainers responsible for teaching over 10 courses/year. Provides pedagogical support, tools for team growth, and ensures completion of strategic plan goals. • Program Lead for key annual events, including InnoVentures pitch competition and fundraiser, and Micro-Business Saturday, public-facing event featuring workshops, coaching, and networking for micro-business owners.
• Promoted to manage strategy and operations of business training programs serving hundreds of entrepreneurs in the Puget Sound. I oversaw and built business courses calendars for over 70 trainings and workshops enrolling over 900 entrepreneurs. • While in the position, I scaled up capacity and impact of the training program by expanding the Ventures 8-week Business Basics Course to 7 cities outside of Seattle. • A key function of my position was stepping in to the primary instructor role Ventures’ cornerstone 8-week Business Basics Course in Spanish. I taught 8 courses to over 200 low-income entrepreneurs with course completion rate consistently above 80%. I also offered over 50 hours of individual business coaching. • An important success in this position was reaching full alignment of course offerings in English and Spanish, including core curriculum, course materials, and Ventures’ annual pitch competition, InnoVentures. I played a key role in InnoVentures as the Client Program Lead, planning and managing all aspects of the pitch contest and training program for over 30 entrepreneurs.
• Built a business plan catering to global professionals and students. • Increased confidence in audio comprehension, grammar, and pronunciation for students in individual and group classes. • Developed curriculum for multi-week individual and group lessons catered to intermediate and advanced adult learners. • Co-managed all aspects of customer service, marketing/publicity, and multilingual website development.
• Nine-month fellowship to partner with Brazilian government program English Without Borders (Inglês Sem Fronteiras) as U.S. cultural ambassador and assistant English teacher at Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (UFES). • Design and organize content to lead workshops and conversation groups focused on topics ranging from U.S. culture to English speaking strategies. • Collaborate with team of host professors to integrate U.S. cultural topics and personal academic strengths into English language course curriculum.
• Responsible for weekly sales goals, quality customer service, cashiering, and maintaining store appearance, among other various duties as needed. • Consistently met or exceeded sales goals; won several team sales competitions for the highest individual sale in one day.
