Amrita S Nair is a persuasive litigator, human rights advocate, and LLM graduate in Human Rights Law from the University of Edinburgh (awaiting results, Nov 2025). One of the youngest to establish an independent practice at the Bombay High Court, she combines courtroom expertise with a deep commitment to justice, equality, and international law. Her career spans constitutional and human rights litigation, child rights advocacy, and legislative reform. She has supported landmark cases before the Supreme Court of India on civil liberties, gender justice, and minority rights, and contributed to policy work on child protection, healthcare, and women’s rights. At Edinburgh, she furthered this work through the Human Rights Clinic with Together – Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights, advancing children’s rights in Scotland. Amrita is also the founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Silent Sexism Project and The Intersectional Feminist Magazine, platforms amplifying marginalised voices and pushing for substantive, intersectional change. Recognised on global platforms including the BBC World Service and Mirror Now, she continues to use law, research, and advocacy as tools for systemic transformation. She holds a BA LLB (Hons.) from Christ University, Bangalore, is a member of G100: Mission Million and the Lawyers Collective, and has delivered invited talks on human rights and gender justice worldwide. In her free time, Amrita finds joy in Indian music, dance, cuisine—and a comforting cup of hot chocolate.
