Many of my clinical interest's stem from my experience when I worked as a bedside and resource nurse at the Washington Hospital Center. I have gained extensive experience conducting in-depth assessments and have developed critical thinking skills. I have also refined interpersonal communicating skills necessary for working with healthcare teams, and participated in grand interdisciplinary rounds. At the Washington Hospital Center, the combination of my personality and the translation of my education to practice laid a strong foundation in my progressive growth as an exemplary nurse. I have honed my ability to think critically and objectively while maintaining a fervent compassion for my patients. Transitioning to Encompass Health, I have constantly set standards for my team and was promoted, in two years, to an RN supervisor. This logical next step has enabled me to extend my skillset and has demanded of me the importance of a balanced and evidence-based approach to nursing care. I'm currently thriving to hone the following three attributes that would make me an authentic and a better leader: 1. Effective listening- Builds patient and staff rapport and contributes to the quality of a relationship. 2. Self-awareness - Reflecting on my own actions and decisions and examining my strengths and weaknesses without any bias as a basis for self-evaluation. 3. Being transparent- I communicate openly and lead with empathy. I believe that "No one is perfect". I don't want to hide my weaknesses and want to improve on anything deficient.
