Control Systems Engineer at ESB Networks
· Designed and configured Substation Control Systems (SCS) for transmission and distribution projects across ESB Networks and EirGrid, including full lifecycle SCS engineering from concept to commissioning. · Produced preliminary system designs and executed integration/testing of ABB MicroSCADA, Siemens SAT 250, and SICAM 230 platforms as per ESB substation automation standards. · Developed and modified PLC logic for substation SCADA systems, ensuring reliable control, interlocking, and automation functionality in accordance with utility protection and operational standards. · Engineered HMI solutions across ABB, Siemens SAT 250, SICAM 230, and Zenon variants, including screen logic, command sequences, status indications, alarms, and user-interface architectures for substation control. · Enhanced Cyber-Security feature of Siemens RS900 Ethernet switches for substation LAN communications, including firmware/boot settings, banner configuration, SNMP protocols, CSV-based device configuration, VLAN/IP addressing, port security, and StickyMAC implementations. · Conducted and witnessed Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and successfully oversaw three Siemens multi-vendor FATs for ESB Networks and EirGrid, ensuring compliance with design specifications and operational standards. · Delivered end-to-end project execution, including engineering design, project planning, cost estimation, site implementation, material coordination, testing, and commissioning. · Successfully completed SCS Levels 1, 2, and 3 assessments, gaining authorization to work independently on live substation sites. · Provided technical mentoring and training to graduate engineers and new team members, supporting capability development and knowledge transfer within the engineering group.
As a Substation Control System Engineer my responsibilities involves: 1) Substation control system design and system configuration to ESB Networks and international clients 2) Produce preliminary designs, integrate and test substation control systems for ESB's ABB MicroSCADA and Siemens SICAM systems 3) Design and modify programmable logic controllers (PLC), HMI and substation SCADA system
As a graduate in Voice and Video team. I was involved in migrating audio and video systems from Cisco to Microsoft Teams, commissioning Polycom AV devices, and handling various tasks related to network connectivity, Microsoft Azure, testing and troubleshooting.
ASG Electronics is an Automation project-based company that works for General Motors. In ASG Electronics I test the power supply, components level inspection, specification and parameter, functional test and quality control of the device
RWF is a state-of-the-art plant, meeting the bulk of the requirement of wheels, axles, and wheelsets for Indian Railways. During this period, as an intern I worked at Electronics Lab which is meant to meet the in-house requirement of RWF in servicing and repair of the Electronic modules/ Sub-Assemblies. I was able to understand how theoretical concepts (for example- power electronics devices like SCR’s and it's like) were used to solve practical issues, evidently.
In BSNL RTTC, I got hands-on experience and thorough understanding of the working of digital switching, Automatic connecting, Call transfer, OFC structure, Routing data transmission in wired as well as wireless systems.
