Data Science @ UNC Chapel Hill

About

I am a Data Science major at UNC Chapel Hill with a strong interest in applying data-driven methods to real world problems, particularly in business strategy, market research, and analytical decision-making. During my gap year, I worked across marketing, finance, sales, and distribution at a consumer goods company, gaining hands on exposure to how businesses operate and make strategic decisions. I conducted brand and competitor audits, analyzed market positioning, and translated qualitative observations into structured reports and presentations. This experience deepened my interest in using data, analysis, and research to inform business strategy, branding, and growth decisions. Academically, I have completed coursework in Calculus II, Intro to Computer Science (COMP 110), Intro to Data Science (DATA 110), and Data Visualization & Storytelling (DATA 150), and I continue to build a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and programming. I am especially interested in how data science can be used to extract insights from complex datasets and support evidence-based decision-making. I am actively seeking opportunities in research, analytics, and student-led technical communities to further develop my skills. In addition to my academic pursuits, I currently serve as a Freshman Representative for the Pakistani Students’ Organization (PakSoc), where I am involved in student engagement and community-building initiatives on campus.
