The American Pakistan Foundation is a non-partisan and non-profit 501(c)(3) committed to empowerment of the Pakistani American community and building bridges between the United States and Pakistan. APF organizes its work into the following signature programs and initiatives: The APF Pakistan Fellows Program places U.S.-based students and newer professionals with organizations working on Pakistan-centric initiatives, including: social and economic development; public health and telemedicine; policy and international affairs; cultural immersion and education; and decision making and advisory services. The APF United Nations Initiative facilitates interactions between Pakistan civil society organizations and the United Nations and provides opportunities for U.S.-based students and community organizations to contribute to UN dialogues on Pakistan. The APF Get Out The Vote (GOTV) Program is about realizing our power to instill lasting change not only in our community, but in our country. The 2025 program will establish year-round engagement, emphasizing state and local elections while maintaining momentum for presidential cycles. The APF Rising Stars Program was launched in 2023, and was designed to recognize the incredible women of our community who have served the world in instrumental ways across different fields. The APF Leadership Council (LC) is a network of Pakistani American professionals, students, and allies who help implement the APF mission to empower the Pakistani American community in all aspects of American life and to build bridges between the United States and Pakistan. The APF Emerging Leaders (EL) Program prepares college undergraduate level youth (generally aged 18-21) for impactful careers through career development, networking, scholarly research, intergenerational dialog, and lifelong learning initiatives. The EL Program serves as a gateway into the APF Leadership Council and provides EL Fellows the opportunity to work on individualized projects that are showcased across APF platforms. The APF One Mentorship Program pairs successful mentors with aspiring mentees in their professional fields and career paths. The program also offers corresponding educational and networking initiatives for the Pakistani American community.
