Compliance & AI Governance | 15 yrs Microsoft + Amazon

Seattle, Washington, United States

About

I've spent 15 years at Microsoft and Amazon operationalizing compliance, privacy, and security programs in enterprise software. That includes leading compliance remediation across a 2,000-person org and identifying and escalating AI safety risks for a consumer-facing system. After senior roles at both companies, I went back to school for a second degree in Information Technology focused on cybersecurity and AI governance. At UW, I chaired a seven-figure technology governance body, led a compliance engineering project for the U.S. Air Force, and co-authored research on the gap between audit frameworks like the EU AI Act and NIST AI RMF and the reality of multi-agent AI systems, where errors compound across agent chains in ways current frameworks weren't designed to catch. Dean's List every quarter. I graduate in June. I'm focused on senior roles in AI governance, GRC, and compliance program management. The work of making AI systems auditable, accountable, and trustworthy at scale. Open to connecting with anyone hiring or building in this space.

Sponsored by the U.S. Air Force and National Security Innovation Network (Defense Innovation Unit). - Designed a three-tier RBAC permission model (Command, Department, Individual) and built three coordinated Power Automate flows using SharePoint REST API calls to dynamically break inheritance and apply explicit role-based permissions at both task and file level upon creation. - Architected a metadata-driven permission framework that tags documents with department ownership at upload, enabling automated downstream permission assignment without manual configuration. - Authored the UAT plan, six-tester test scripts covering the full permission hierarchy, a visibility reference model, and a 30-page technical report with deployment documentation for production handoff to Air Force IT. - Ran stakeholder discovery sessions with military leadership to scope MVP requirements, define phased delivery, and align the technical solution with operational workflows processing 20-100+ daily HR tasks across multiple work centers.
