Amanda Lim is a veteran PM and is passionate about growing Singapore's tech ecosystem. At Facebook, her product contributions span from building new products like Instagram Stories to growing Facebook’s community on its core apps. At Instagram, she crafted the product strategy for Instagram’s next billion users. She led product teams across Instagram to build products on the mobile web and the Instagram Lite app targetting emerging markets. Her work helped Instagram grow from 600M MAP to over 1Bn MAP in 2 years. Prior to Instagram, she worked on Facebook’s core product growth where she successfully drove the user acquisition and retention strategy that propelled the company from 1Bn MAP to over 2Bn MAP in 2 years. After 7 years in Facebook HQ, Amanda moved back to Singapore in 2020 to be the first Product Lead at Facebook APAC HQ. She currently leads the core platform and customer experience product teams for the sales of AR/VR products (Oculus, Portal etc). Amanda was a guest speaker at Singapore Tech Forum 2020 alongside other industry leaders like the CEO of Salesforce, Marc Benioff.

  • Head of Product Consumer Engagement at Grab

    Lead product strategy and development for Grab’s core consumer app experiences across Southeast Asia, overseeing user growth, engagement, and cross-vertical platform expansion. Own product portfolio spanning user acquisition, retention, engagement, and cross-vertical monetization across Grab’s ride-hailing, food delivery, mart, dine-out, and financial services ecosystems. 0 to 1 product launches: • Grab Travel Pass – launched a subscription product for frequent travelers, introducing travel specific airport ride benefits, e-sims and other services expanding Grab’s revenue. • Grab Teen Accounts (Grab Family) – built the first teen ride-hailing experience in Southeast Asia on Grab, enabling safe mobility for younger users with parental controls and account management. • Grab Mini Apps Platform – introduced a mini-apps ecosystem enabling third-party and internal services to integrate into the Grab super-app, expanding platform capabilities and service discovery. • Grab Groups – launched a shared transactions experience allowing users to seamlessly coordinate rides, food orders, and payments with friends and family.

    At Instagram, I lead the emerging market growth strategy (including developing a new app - Instagram Lite focused on driving growth in Emerging Markets or areas with Low-End Devices, Poor Connectivity and/or Data Sensitivity). We helped to drive Instagram's community past the 1 Billion monthly active people (MAP) milestone. I also led product for Instagram Web, which is now among the most visited site in the world. I was responsible for the strategy and execution for the product and built out the org (Core Experience, Growth, Product Infra and Embeds). Launched the full-featured experience for desktop and mobile web, including launching Stories and Direct messaging on web. I scaled the team from 5 in Instagram HQ to 30 people across New York and Bay Area.
