Amanda Wehrle

Careers Lead and Deputy Head of PE at Weald Of Kent Grammar School Academy Trust

Tonbridge, England, United Kingdom

About

I am a full time teacher of PE and one of the main reasons I became a teacher was to make a difference to children’s futures. I have always had a passion for sport, and teaching PE allows me to create that sense of excitement and atmosphere that enables students to develop and reach their potential. I believe that learning about sport is crucial from a young age because it teaches discipline and respect for others, in addition to building the important foundations to lead a healthy lifestyle and develop a positive attitude. I represented Great Britain in trampolining, achieving many successes throughout my career. I am a double World Champion in synchronised trampolining and I was the reserve for the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. I have been a sports ambassador for Sports 4 All and Springfree Trampoline. Within my role for these companies I ran assemblies and workshops in schools, along with attending festivals and appearances with the aim to inspire the next generation in sport. I am also a Level 4 Senior qualified trampoline coach.
