About

Amanda is an internationally trained lawyer and political scientist with experience in socio-technical AI research and policy. She advises governments and international organizations on policy mechanisms to mitigate risks and advance beneficial AI ecosystems. Through her work at the Geneva-based nonprofit HealthAI, Amanda has also built expertise in AI and digital transformation by providing technical assistance to national governments on AI preparedness and governance. Amanda has conducted interdisciplinary research and given strategic advisory in AI governance to Mila - Québec AI Institute, CIDOB, UN-Habitat, UNESCO, The Future Society, OECD, IEEE, WHO, the UN, and various organizations across Latin America. She is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer in international AI governance and was awarded the 100 Brilliant Women in AI recognition in 2024.

    The Global Challenge to Build Trust in the Age of Generative AI results from the G7 Hirsohima AI Process mandate. Supported by OECD.AI, IEEE, GPAI, the World Bank, IDB, AI Commons, VDE, and the AI Action Summit, the Challenge seeks to build a trustworthy, transparent, and resilient information ecosystem that supports democratic values and societal well-being. My (volunteer) role included scoping the project, defining each phase's requirements and expected outcomes, and drafting the open call in collaboration with fellow experts.

The Roundtable gathers 1,150+ participants and is co-hosted by intergovernmental organizations and key AI governance actors.
