Assist in the development and management of the Mass League’s Community Health Worker programs, supporting community health centers (CHCs) in providing care to patients and communities they serve, beginning with launching a robust CHC-focused Community Health Worker (CHW) multidimensional program. The programs aim to: Support health center’s COVID-19 education, outreach and engagement Assist in the providing access to training related to primary and behavioral health care to enhance community outreach and patient engagement Promote the creation of career ladders for CHWs by providing workforce technical assistance and training to support recruitment and retention
The Community Workforce Training Supervisor will manage general day-to-day operations of the Lowell CHC’s Community Health Education Center (CHEC). The Coordinator will plan, develop, coordinate, and deliver training curricula and professional development topics for a broad range of public health professional disciplines; provide direct supervision of program staff; and support the effective delivery of training content and materials. Efforts will be coordinated with all Lowell CHC departments, community and state organizations, academia, and other training institutes across the state. This position requires an individual committed to health equity and social justice, and adaptable in a variety of community settings. Some evening and weekend commitments are required.
Plan, develop, and provide training and Community Health Worker (CHW) development programs, using effective knowledge methods such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops for employees. Promote training to help the Northeast region’s CHWs enhance current skills or prepare for new opportunities within their organization. Coordinate all training programs including oversight of all details of delivering training programs, developing an annual training calendar in collaboration with the Program Manager. Liaise with trainers/consultants to coordinate and facilitate appropriate training programs for the region. Schedule training opportunities based on availability of classrooms, equipment, and instructors. Assist with the day-to-day operations of HP i.e. CHEC, Community Health and Interpreter Services Complete Time sheets and all Kronos related activities Order department supplies Process POs, invoices and other programmatic paperwork Compile departmental monthly reports Assist with new hire orientations; onboarding, coaching, teaching and mentoring of staff Assist in management and monitoring of budgets Assist in decision-making process relative to alteration in program direction/management, program evaluation, efficiency and effectiveness Facilitate meetings and huddles as needed Assign responsibilities to staff as needed Support the Director as delegated
Plan and execute Teddy Bear Clinic. Assist with daily administrative needs of department. Place reminder calls for community programs. Organize and update resource & educational materials. Redesign screenings’ process and materials. Assist with Employee Health & Wellness Fair preparations. Health outreach for external community events. Summarize program evaluations. Prepare materials for community programs. Attend various internal/external meetings.
Supporting the functions of the nursing unit by performing clerical duties; serving as a resource for patients, families, physicians, staff, and visitors who may approach the nursing station; coordinating the flow of the unit to enhance the delivery of safe, quality patient care.
