After graduating in 2009, Dr. Al-Sawaf practiced for a few years in the field of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. Shortly after that, and until recently, he shifted his focus and career path towards one of his fields of interest; Healthcare Management & Leadership. Since then, Dr. Al-Sawaf has built several years of experience in healthcare management by holding many managerial positions as shown in his profile. In addition to his medical education, he has obtained a Post Graduate Diploma Degree in Strategic Project Management from Westford University. Also, he has successfully completed a Healthcare Leadership and a Leading Digital Transformation in Healthcare Executive Education programs conducted by Harvard Medical School. He has also attended several related courses in Leadership, Quality Management, and Risk Management. On the 16th of May 2017, Dr. Al-Sawaf, with a group of professionals, received a patent certificate for their invention of a medical device that helps to enhance blood flow to the lower limbs in diabetic foot patients, or those patients who have lower limb ischemia due to other causes. The patent was obtained from the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) with Patent Number US 9,649,045 B2. Apart from his medical life, Dr. Al-Sawaf has 10+ years of experience as a freelance Graphic Designer & video editor with several projects. Moreover, he is a rescue diver.

I was so honored to be nominated as a Lead Training Facilitator in the Train of Trainers (ToT) Program which is one of the essential training programs provided by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) to improve the knowledge and skills of the healthcare providers (trainers) who are involved in the education process for medical students and junior physicians who are under one of the registered medical training programs provided by SCFHS.
Was part of the team that insures proper delivery of the Health & Wellbeing Sector’s strategy, in addition to managing, facilitating, supporting, and sometimes interfering with projects that are being run within the sector. Also, ensuring on-time execution of the sector’s milestones, and specifically the “CEO milestones” which carry a high priority & importance as they reflect the overall sector’s progress and affect the overall sector’s score and end-of-year bonus.
Overseeing and aligning projects & tasks with Cluster Development and Model of Care divisions within the Western Business Unit (WBU). Also, overseeing the overall performance of the 6 health clusters within the Western Region (WR) of Saudi Arabia. Oversight & Planning is the main hub where data are gathered, analyzed, and eventually visualized using interactive dashboards through Power BI and other tools. In Addition to this, Oversight division monitors the progress and tracking of the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) manual, in which each cluster passes through 5 gates to become an ACO entity. Through which, the Governance chapter for all clusters lies directly under Oversight. Also, Risk Management and Risk Mitigation are core Oversight functions across HHC. I am also the Engagement Team Lead for the J1 Health Cluster (one of the 6 health clusters in WR) in which I manage and oversee all communications and deliverables between the health cluster and the Health Holding Company (HHC). In addition to that, I am the Private Sector Participation (PSP) Chapter Lead in the Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Manual, in which we ensure the proper implementation of all aspects and requirements of the Manual among all clusters with regard to the private sector engagement.
