I’m Tomas Alvarez, a mechanical engineer turned automation engineer. I help industrial businesses improve production efficiency by using heavy machinery data to pinpoint bottlenecks and speed up decisions. I’ve supported engineering teams with hands-on problem solving across industrial systems — from design and procurement workflows to commissioning. I’ve managed jobs ranging from 200kW to 4MW and built tools that reduce friction in drafting, programming, and hazardous area compliance work. The team here at Kohu Hemp is working hard on developing a range of products to bring into the New Zealand market. Every product we are designing needs to be non-toxic, waste-free, and sustainable, so nothing is being rushed and everything is extensively tested as we believe in quality over quantity. We are focusing our interests primarily in the Building Industry, starting with the development of our upcoming products; HempKrete™ and ReGen Homes™ Tiny Homes.
