Currently undertaking role of Programme Manager with a new and exciting venture.
Returned from a successful and valuable overseas deployment to the Middle East. Providing Project Management discipline to a key campaign to delivery a key part of QinetiQ's UK strategy to lead and modernise the UK defence Test and Evaluation enterprise.
To gain experience working overseas, I volunteered for a deployment to the Middle East working on a management consultancy transformation programme for a Government department. Reporting to the Delivery Director, key responsibilities: • Working with subject matter experts to generate and maintain delivery schedules of the transformation programme using MS Project. • Led the delivery of training projects and other studies linked to the overall transformation to realise the benefits of the programme. • Liaising with and briefing the Client in support of programme delivery. • Provided logistic coordination in the absence of the Security and Logistics Manager. • Ad-hoc IT support in country.
X-Net® Vehicle Arresting Device – Overall responsibility for the delivery of an off-the-shelf QinetiQ product to a global Customer base with a total sales value between £600k and £1.2m per annum. I worked with the Sales Lead to promote the X-Net® at trade shows and demonstrations. I was also responsible for maintaining and ordering stock by balancing the sales pipeline and probability of win to minimise stock holding thus reducing cost liability whilst being able to deliver rapidly to meet Customer orders to realise revenue as soon as possible. X-Net® Remote Deployment Device – Working with a design consultancy I lead the development of a prototype system to remotely deploy the X-Net® vehicle arresting device. Two units successfully completed US Department of Defense test and evaluation programme (US Mil-Std 810). Working with a manufacturing partner I lead the delivery of 50 deployment devices to the US Army. Gas and Hazardous Operations Support Team (GHOST) – For three years I lead a blue light emergency response service to assist Fire and Rescue Services in the south of England with incidents primarily involving gas cylinders where it was unsuitable to deploy a firefighter. The service comprised of Remotely Operated Vehicles and a team of highly skilled operators who were on call 24/7 to respond to incidents. The contract value was £1.2m over the three years which included elements of capital purchase and service delivery. Experience using SAP products including finance and Material Management.
