Boston, Massachusetts, United States
I’m a first-generation college student from Brownsville, TX, currently studying Education and Human Development at Boston University, with a strong interest in youth justice and education law. I’m passionate about advocating for young people, especially those impacted by the legal system, and believe in the power of community engagement, education, and policy reform to drive lasting change. Through my work with Jumpstart, the Community Service Center, and student government, I’ve gained hands-on experience in early childhood education, community outreach, and collaborative leadership. I’ve organized large-scale literacy initiatives, supported volunteer engagement, and helped connect students to meaningful service opportunities across Boston. I’m fluent in Spanish, conversational in American Sign Language, and skilled in programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. I'm eager to continue building experiences that prepare me for a career in law, where I hope to emphasize rehabilitation over punishment and center the voices of youth in shaping a more equitable future.
As a Program Team Member for the First-Year Student Outreach Project (FYSOP) at Boston University, I collaborate with fellow managers to connect incoming students to meaningful community service opportunities. Our goal is to foster early engagement, build strong peer networks, and create lasting connections between first-year students, BU, and the broader Boston community. Through coordinated outreach and volunteer efforts, we help new students navigate their transition to college while making a positive impact locally.
