I am currently a Graduate Research Assistant at Texas Tech University in the Plant and Soil Science Department. I graduated from Zamorano University with my M.S. in Sustainable Tropical Agriculture and Florida International University with a B.S. in Environmental Science and a Certification in Agroecology. My research focuses on integrated crop-forage-livestock systems with a focus on forage sorghum and pearl millet as sustainable alternatives in water-limited environments and arid to semi-arid regions. I take interest in forage and livestock productivity, ruminant nutrition, and sustainable production systems. I have worked as a Student Researcher at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden and carried out research under the Million Orchid Project which focuses on the adaptation to climate change of native orchid species. I love learning about different cultures and backgrounds and believe that this drives my passion to learn about different forms of food production and food systems around the world.
