Military historian. Research and publication of military-historical topics involving the German campaign in the West of Europe in May/June 1940, particularly in the Netherlands (10-18 May 1940). Developed and published two websites (one in Dutch, one in English) about the aforementioned topic. The English website is http://www.waroverholland.com Published three books (in Dutch) about the Dutch 1940 Maas-line defences at publishing house 'Aspekt Uitgeverij Soesterberg'. Two books in 2016 with titles "Het gevecht bij Mook en Middelaar - mei 1940" and "De strijd aan het Maas-Waalkanaal - mei 1940". Both are describing the events on 10 May 1940 when the Meuse river formed the frontline, also in the Netherlands. The third book on the Gennep sector of the Meuse-line - where a German 'little green men' (Brandenburger) raid took the Dutch by surprise and facilitated the launch of a deep penetration of German troop-trains into the Dutch defences of the Meuse-front - published in March 2022. A fourth book about the Meuse-line is in preparation and will probably be published second half of 2025. In January 2019 a book was published on the Dutch strategy in May 1940. It is part of a compilation by four authors ('Blitzkrieg onder vuur') with critical reflection on the German "Blitzkrieg" in the May-June 1940 time frame. My section ("Winkelmans Witzkrieg') comprises 75 pgs of main text and an equal number of pages of end-notes. It focuses on the Dutch cold and hot (counter)strategy opposing the German May-1940 offensive in the Netherlands. In April 2023 an expanded and edited version of this book (c/w maps and photos, 210 pages) was published in English under the title "May 1940 - War over Holland - Winkelmans Witzkrieg" (ISBN 9-789464-629637). It is a critical dissertation about the Dutch strategy - hot and cold.

De stichting heeft en beheert voorts een grote collectie unieke documenten en foto's, die het werk en onderzoek ondersteunen. Project phase-out on a pt/ad hoc base arrangement after Feb 2014 until final close-out.
