I’m a senior graphic designer with over 20 years of experience in both print design, web design, press advertising, promotions, events, and campaigns. I have worked on design projects for major clients such as Cunard, Santander and Travelsphere. My passion is working with small to medium sized businesses where both the client and myself can see the results of our hard work together. Until recently, I was a full-time Senior Graphic Designer for The Graphic Design House in Farlington, Portsmouth. In this role I was focused on magazine, brochure, and booklet design with a good dose of large-scale graphics thrown in for good measure. Successes included helping create a brand new look for a luxury travel company (TransIndus), numerous theatre event booklets and marketing and completing the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce monthly magazine within tight deadlines. Colleagues and clients know me as a friendly, highly creative graphic designer who can always be trusted to come up with ideas and a new approach. I enjoy listening to the client’s business needs, and spend time researching and understanding their business and target audience before designing a clear design brief and project plan. I can (and often do) work well alone, but I’m at my best collaborating with others and exchanging ideas. I enjoy seeing a project succeed, often enhancing a product or company profile to make them more engaging to their target audience. An example of this is a brand continuity exercise I implemented for local brewers, The Havant Brewery. We took the initial artwork and with a few typography tweaks and the application of layout and basic design rules we streamlined their brand, making it clean and communicable. The results were outstanding, helping to take the company to a new level within one year.

I enjoy sitting down with my clients and making them feel at ease, so we can plan a successful design project together, whilst deciding on a robust project brief. In a relaxed, creative and communicative approach we can work together on a project with an strong and understanding business relationship, helping to deliver the project on time and on budget with the minimum of fuss. I enjoy a team approach when working on any project. Good planning, great communication and the ability to adapt to changes within the brief or unexpected issues are key to our success.
