I am a full professor at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. I have recently been nominated as national ambassador of financial literacy by the European Commission. I obtained my PhD (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Glasgow, UK. I teach courses in financial accounting, corporate finance, financial statement analysis and, recently, neuroeconomics. I have published my research in various high-quality scientific journals (Accounting and Business research, European Accounting Review, International Review of Economics and Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Research in International Business and Finance, Emerging Markets Review, Journal of Business Finance & Accounting, Accounting in Europe and others). I am a member of editorial boards of two journals and an ad-hoc reviewer for others. I am a long-standing active member of the European Accounting Association, where I was a member of the Management Committee, and the chair of the EAA’s Standing Scientific Committee for two full mandates. I was vice-dean for research and doctoral studies at the SEB, University of Ljubljana, for two terms, during which the school obtained the initial AACSB accreditation and received the EQUIS reaccreditation. I have been a member of supervisory boards and audit committees, and I cooperates with the Slovenian Directors’ Association and the Slovenian Institute of Auditors. I am is currently a member of the supervisory board of Modra zavarovalnica, d.d., (Modra insurance company) and chairing its Audit committee. I have also served on two school's boards for a number of years. I advocate awareness and sensible application of findings from economics in the local environment via social media. I publish short cases from finance, financial accounting and other topics on LinkedIn. I occasionally promote science on TV (Ugriznimo znanost) and events (Znanost na cesti and others), and promote the interest for economics and business in secondary and primary schools.
