Bringing user understanding into the heart of product development through comprehensive qualitative and quantitative research. I have a diverse background in challenging research areas, from smartwatch apps to children's education, interactive TV, and audio streaming. I excel at uncovering insights that drive innovative product design. My journey began in music technology and engineering, where my PhD laid a robust foundation in research methodologies and sparked my passion for user research. Through my years in industry, I have successfully navigated both individual contributor (IC) and hybrid roles. I've line-managed, led a research squad, and conducted my own impactful studies.
I was a senior design researcher for Children’s & Education. In this role I was responsible for the design research for BBC Bitesize. Much of my work in this role was working with children and young people (aged 5-16) to understand how the BBC can support their learning.
I worked primarily on the BBC’s interactive TV services including the Red Button service for connected TVs and the BBC Sport TV app. For the majority of this time I was the sole researcher working on these products. I worked collaboratively with designers and the product team to plan and execute research to inform design decisions.
As a UX Researcher for Graduate Prospects, I was responsible for designing and analysing studies to inform the UX team and other business stakeholders. In this role, I used a range of methodologies (e.g., A/B testing, pop-up surveys, and usability testing) to test features for the site and presented results back to internal stakeholders in meetings.
