I am a biotechnology graduate with a solid foundation in biological sciences and lab experience. I’ve gained experience with basic microbiology and molecular biology techniques, along with supporting imaging workflows. I enjoy being in a lab setting, and I’m especially interested in learning more about collaborating with a team and contributing to meaningful scientific work.
Trained on widefield and confocal microscopy platforms (Nikon Spinning Disk, Leica SP8, and Leica Stellaris 8) in a multi-user core facility environment Independently operated the P250 slide scanner for researcher samples and developed user-specific fluorescence imaging protocols based on experimental needs. Managed user scheduling and billing workflows through iLab core facility management software.
Led academic support and mentorship for a small cohort of pre-health undergraduates for the summer program, facilitating sessions in Narrative Medicine, General Chemistry, and Statistics. Conducted study sessions and collaborated with faculty to enhance student engagement and academic performance.
Assisted students in learning proper guidelines in maintaining a lab notebook as well grading lab notebooks. Additionally, working with students on basic principles of microbiology such as pathogen identification, bacterial enumeration, and biofilm formation.
Working under Dr. Sweet for her brittle sea star project which entails using confocal microscopy to document several developmental stages. I was involved in data management, image processing using GIMP and Fiji, and manuscript writing.
Position entailed helping students on how to maintain a lab notebook, and assist in any lab techniques covered throughout the course such as gel electrophoresis, western blot, and PCR.
