Greater Melbourne Area
I have over fifteen years experience, predominantly at an established mid-tier firm. My role gave me exposure to an extremely varied, interesting and complex client base. It also allowed me to develop strong and long-term relationships with colleagues, clients and advocates. However, I felt to grow and develop as a practitioner I needed to take myself out of my comfort zone, challenge myself, explore new opportunities and learn from new mentors. So after 10 years at one firm I made a move and have not looked back from this decision. Family groups with moderate to high asset value and complex entity structures have formed the largest part of my client base over the years. Building long term relationships with these clients and advising through all stages of business cycles, family changes, restructuring, tax management, asset protection and eventual succession is what gives me the greatest job satisfaction. An extension of the above is my passion for estate planning. This is a service area becoming ever so important given the complex dynamics of modern families and the way they are becoming increasingly spread across the globe and in turn spread across very different and competing international tax jurisdictions. I also have extensive experience in Small Business CGT Concessions and restructuring for clients on the micro scale up to those just falling into the relevant thresholds. Cross divisional and external projects include superannuation strategy, R&D, EMDG, foreign expansion, cloud transition, business sales & valuations, voluntary liquidations, family agreements and matrimonial settlements, audit, balanced scorecard and other management reporting. Relating to different personality types is paramount in the accounting profession. My passion for exploring the world, continuing to develop an eclectic taste in music (incl. playing multiple instruments) among other hobbies and interests has enabled me to relate to people of all generations and walks of life
